Journey to the West

This exhibition is inspired by one of China's four great classical novels, Journey to the West, and focuses on Chinese contemporary art.

Zitong Shan is an independent curator

Xiaotong Tang is a curator and artist from China who focuses on fostering dialogue between audiences and artists.

Zhang Kailing is an emerging curator from Fujian, China, currently developing her practice through a focus on visual presentation and spatial coordination.

Zhang Zhuoran is an independent artist and curator from China who is dedicated to promoting traditional Chinese art.

Zhu Xuebing is a newly emerging curator, dedicated to integrating innovation with art.

Artists

Zhou Chenlong graduated from the Chinese National Academy of Arts and is one of the representative figures of young calligraphers in China.

Ren Yinlai: Inheriting craftsmanship, innovating endlessly — Ren Yinlai leads Cao County shadow puppetry into a new era of brilliance.

Liu Shuting is a Chinese paper-cutting artist and cultural heritage inheritor, whose intricate works reflect both technical mastery and deep love for her homeland.

Wang Jianhua is a member of the Chinese Painters Association.

Zhang Weichuan is a Chinese landscape painter whose work focuses on the majestic Taihang Mountains.

Xie Chengfei is a contemporary paper-cutting artist and recipient of the highest honor in Chinese folk art, the “Shanhua Award,” dedicated to the innovation and preservation of the craft.

The exhibition showcases diverse artistic forms such as calligraphy, paper-cutting, shadow puppetry and traditional Chinese painting to create an immersive experience for the audience. The exhibition not only showcases Chinese contemporary art but also serves as an opportunity for cultural dialogue between the East and the West.

Workshops on how to do Chinese calligraphy and painting will be run throughout the exhibition. More information will be available soon.

 

ARTISTS
